ITP delivers civil engineering equipment for the maintenance of road infrastructure in the DRC to OR and OVD

Kinshasa April 10th, 2021 (CPA) .- The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works (ITP), Willy Ngoopos Sunzhel handed over Thursday to the Directors General of the Roads Office (OR), Herman Mutima Sakrini and to that from the Office of Roads and Drainage (OVD), Tumba Tshikela, civil engineering equipment intended for the maintenance of road infrastructure in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), learned the CPA from the communication service of the said ministry.

These materials consisting of spreaders and compactors are part of the project signed in 2018 between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Empire of Japan through JICA (the Japanese International Cooperation Agency) consisting of the development of equipment for the maintenance of roads in the Congolese capital. They are acquired on a non-repayable loan from this Empire of the Rising Sun valued at nine million US dollars. In addition to this donation, Japan is intervening in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in several sectors, including the supply of drinking water and road infrastructure.
