Kinshasa, July 17th, 2021 (CPA).- The Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and New Communication Information Technologies (PTNTIC) Augustin Kibassa Maliba and that of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education (EPST), Tony Mwaba Kazadi , have decided to pool their efforts to ensure the connectivity of educational entities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as part of the System of Interconnection of Educational Institutions (SINTED) project, indicates a press release from the Ministry of PT-NTIC received on Friday at the CPA.
The meeting of two statesmen aims to improve the quality of education in the context of free education advocated by the President of the Republic Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo. It is with this in mind that a working session took place this Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the Office of the Minister of PTNTIC in the presence of partner Schoolap, represented by its Founder Pascal Kanik.
The two personalities studied the feasibility conditions for the effective implementation of the SINTED project, which will certainly allow several Congolese educational establishments to be connected to the Internet, thus facilitating access to online content.
Augustin Kibassa Maliba stressed that his ministry is ready to do everything to ensure that this project, which targets a large number of educational entities, is quickly implemented.
« It is particularly connectivity, because it is now a question of connecting between 500 to 1000 educational entities across the Republic, precisely to be able to support the quality of teaching. You know how the Head of State fought so that we can have free access, to this we will add quality not only in the big cities but also in the hinterland, that’s the concern that we have together,”said Minister Kibassa who maintains that they are all in a hurry to make the project a reality as quickly as possible.
The Minister of EPST, for his part, indicated that it is a question of supporting his sub-sector of the EPST particularly with regard to the issue of free education in order to come to terms with the real issue which are very often overshadowed by free, especially the quality of education.
Connectivity, he stressed, will not only allow quality but also control of all schools and management offices responsible for operating the sub-sector. Finally, it is about having a mastery and if not a control not only at the central level, but also at the local level, via the provincial level.
According to the head of Schoolap, Pascal Kanik, today’s meeting was worth all its weight in the way of the effective implementation of the SINTED project. The schoolap platform, he insisted, will allow schools and universities to disseminate educational content to all pupils and students while university professors to put syllabuses online for students in order to promote the quality of education and free access.
It should be noted that the working sessions will continue at the level of two ministries (PTNTIC-EPST) until the materialization of this very beneficial project for the students of the DRC, it is recalled. ACP/
