Kinshasa, June 25th, 2021 (CPA).– The Director General of the National Agency for the Promotion of Investments (ANAPI), Anthony NKINZO, met last Wednesday in Kinshasa, with the regional director for West Africa and Center of the International Financial Corporation (IFC), Aliou MAIGA on issues relating to the improvement of the business climate in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the CPA of this agency learned on Friday.
According to Mr. Aliou MAIGA who was accompanied in these exchanges by the new regional representative of IFC for Central Africa, Sylvain KAKOU, these exchanges of views were centered around the general business environment in the DRC, with the central role that plays ANAPI in the process of improving the business climate and promoting investments as well as the commitment of the International Finance Corporation to actively support the development of the private sector in the DRC.
The same source specifies that IFC is already active in industry, agribusiness and financial services with a project portfolio of nearly 122,000,000 (one hundred and twenty-two million) USD, and intends to increase its operations in several other promising sectors, for the creation of jobs and the development of the DRC, in particular, energy, infrastructure, the development of special economic zones (SEZs) and especially access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) ).
The two institutions also discussed other points of convergence, such as the promotion of specific investment opportunities of the provinces as well as technical support to the activities of ANAPI.
