Surprise visit by Christian Mwando Nsimba to the National Institute of Statistics

Kinshasa, August 24th, 2021 (CPA).- The Minister of State in charge of Planning, Christian Mwando Nsimba Kabulo, paid a surprise visit to the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on Monday in the municipality of Limete in Kinshasa , in order to inspect the newly erected building, but not yet in use, which will house the various departments of this public establishment.

In addition to visiting the new building, Minister of State Christian Mwamdo took the opportunity to walk around the facilities where the various INS services operate. He successively visited the Central Census Bureau (BCR), the General Statistics Directorate, the central server and the index development service.

For the Minister of State in charge of Planning, this visit demonstrates the government’s interest in this service, as well as the will of the Prime Minister, Jean Michel Sama Lukonde, to apply the vision of the President of the Republic, Felix -Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, with a view to organizing a general census of the Congolese population which has never taken place since 1984.

Previously, the interim director general of the INS, Serge Bokuma Onsiti, on behalf of his staff, thanked the government, through the Minister of State in charge of Planning, for the interest he gave to the INS and particularly statistics.ACP/
