Towards the materialization of the construction of a floating 60 mega-watt methane gas plant

Kinshasa, June 6th, 2021 (CPA).– The Minister of Hydrocarbons, Didier Budimbu, exchanged views on Friday in his office in Kinshasa, with the managers of the Company Symbion Power, on the materialization of the construction project of a 60 mega-watt floating methane gas plant in Goma in the province of North Kivu, the CPA of the Ministry of Hydrocarbons learned on Saturday.

Making this transformation his hobbyhorse, Didier Budimbu promised to build on this nascent collaboration with the company Symbion Power for the benefit of the Congolese government, through his ministry.

For the representative of this company, Singoma Mwanza, the objective of this meeting with the minister was to decipher the project and enter into a partnership with the government.

« This project is part of the energy security resolution for the city of Goma, with the aim of extracting methane gas, and being outside the areas that are infected by the earthquake, » Mwanza said, affirming that the company he represents is ready to materialize this project within a reasonable time, for a total cost of around USD 450,000,000 (four hundred and fifty million).
