50 yearsof UNPC is the age of full maturity, according to its president Kabu Kuba

Kinshasa, March 24th, 2021 (CPA).-The 50 years of the National Press Union of Congo (UNPC) is the age of full maturity, said Tuesday, the president of the National Press Union of Congo (UNPC), Gaby Kabu Bekanga, during the launch of the Golden Jubilee of this corporation, organized in Kinshasa under the sign of “Questioning our profession”.

Mr. Gaby Kuba paid tribute to the Congolese genius who had the idea of creating a unifying framework for all the knights of the pen of the DRC, before saluting the very first president ofthe UNPC,Raphael Mpanu-Mpanu. He indicated that this golden jubilee constitutes a self-assessment, an examination of conscience and a questioning is necessary for this purpose « Where do we come from? Where are we? And where are we going? « .

To answer it, he suggested, it is absolutely necessary to discard the festive character but to make deep reflections. He invited journalists to heroism, to come out of the backwater to save the profession, while paying tribute to his predecessor, the late Joseph Boucard Kasonga Tshilunde, who died on November 17th, 2020. According to him, it is a document that helps journalists to do their job well without worry, in accordance with various relevant international provisions applicable to the statutes of media professionals.
