Kinshasa, May 22nd, 2021 (CPA).- The head of work, Etienne Tekabileba Ndima Alipede was proclaimed, Thursday, doctor in African letters and civilization at the National Pedagogical University (UPN) with the mention « distinction », at the resulting from the public defense of a doctoral thesis entitled « Leboale morpho-syntax: language of the northeastern periphery of the Bantu domain ». The recipient indicated that his doctoral research made the description and morphosyntactic analysis of Leboale, a Bantu language without a written tradition, based on a field survey carried out in the territory of Buta located in the North-East of the DRC.
According to Etienne Tekabileba, the Leboale morpho –syntax was articulated around four parts, namely: phonology, morphonology, morphology and syntax. The linguistic differences in Leboale, he argued, are believed to be mainly due to the influence of the neighboring Ubangi languages of Chan -nilotics.
This hypothesis, added the recipient, could interest linguistic researchers especially comparatists for subsequent in-depth studies. Professors Toronzoni Ngama-Nzombio from UPN, Timothée Mukash Kalel from the University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN), Nzanga N’siokasa (UPN), André Mutingea Mangulu (UPN) and Bonaventure Chelo Lotsima (UNIKIN), were in the jury respectively as promoter, co-promoter, and president of the jury. He urged the new doctor in African letters and civilization, Etienne Tekabileba Ndima to continue his research so that this language is known in the world and taught in schools in the territory of Buta. Nemoyato is also satisfied with this doctoral research which strengthens the faculty of the Higher Education Officer (ISP) of Buta, before calling on other supervisors of this university institution to follow in his footsteps. He underlined the need for the leaders of the province of Bas-Uélé to work in synergy to take into account the various problems of this part of the country, in particular, in the sectors of education, health, construction of road infrastructure. , etc. ACP/
