A first batch of Egyptian equipment in Kinshasa for the construction of a hydro computer center in Congo

Kinshasa, April 27^th, 2021 (CPA) .- An Egyptian military cargo plane landed on Monday at N’Djili airport, with a first batch of equipment on board for the construction of a hydro computer center in Congo , in Kinshasa whose main mission is weather forecasting and climate change, the CPA learned on Monday from the press secretary of the Egyptian embassy in the DRC, Michel Kiapa. According to the source, this set of equipment is composed of in particular 10 desktop computer screens, 2 desktop computers, 2 color printers and 1 fuel tank with a capacity of 500 liters for a production unit of diesel electricity (100 KVA). It is since 2012 that the governments of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have been in talks with a view to the implementation of this center for a 5-year contract, recalled the press secretary of the Egyptian Embassy in the DRC, before announcing that the hydro computer center will soon be inaugurated by the Egyptian Minister of Irrigation, Mohamed Abdelaaty. Regarding other areas of cooperation between the two brother countries, Michel Kiapa mentioned the construction of 30 underground water wells and the exchange of experiences between Egyptian and Congolese farmers in the agricultural field. These hydro computer equipment were unloaded at N’Djili airport, in the presence of the political advisor of the Egyptian embassy in the DRC, Karim El Hassan accompanied by the military attaché, Ahmed Shata as well as the secretary general ai of Ministry of the Environment, Gabriel Yuma, it is recalled.
