Adoption by the National Assembly of the bill extending the state of siege

Kinshasa, June 19th, 2021 (CPA).– The lower house of Parliament adopted, unanimously by 373 voters, on Friday the bill extending the state of siege for 15 days in the provinces of North Kivu and of Ituri during its plenary session chaired by its president, Christophe Mboso, at the People’s Palace.

In addition, the plenary also adopted the resolution authorizing the Attorney General at the Constitutional Court to investigate against the national deputies Munga Meshozi and Lumbu Kiala, in the case of management of funds of the Agroindustrial Park of Bukanga Lonzo, in the Kwango. The two deputies will appear before the PGR of the Constitutional Court with their immunities as national Members of the Parliament. ACP/
