Kinshasa, July 24th, 2021 (CPA).- The governor of the city province of Kinshasa, Gentyni Ngobla Mpaka, in a decree made public on Friday banned the lifting of bodies on weekends in the morgues of Kinshasa hospitals.
According to the provincial commissioner of the Congolese National Police, General Sylvano Kasongo, who spoke on the antennas of the Congolese National Radio Television (RTNC), the decision of the governor to prohibit the lifting of bodies in the morgues of Kinshasa aims to allow populations to respect barrier gestures in order to fight effectively against the 3rd wave of the coronavirus pandemic in Kinshasa. It also aims to avoid cascading convictions during the lifting of the body ceremony by family members and other relatives.
« The lifting of the bodies will be done from Monday to Thursday, » he insisted, adding that the offenders will suffer the rigors of the law. ACP/Fng/nig
