Kinshasa, August 13th, 2021 (CPA).- The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs, Christophe Lutundula Apala Pen’Apala, announced the forthcoming holding in DRC, of the diplomatic conference, during a meeting to assess the activities of the administration of this ministry, which he chaired on Wednesday in the presence of the Deputy Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs, Samy Adubango Awotho.
Christophe Lutundula, for this purpose, instructed the two General Secretaries for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as well as the directors and heads of different services, present at this working session, to work in collaboration with his director of cabinet with a view to put together a team to look into the preparations for the said conference.
The Congolese diplomat then announced major reforms aimed at revitalizing the administration of his ministry according to the vision of the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo. An ad hoc committee will be set up by the two general secretaries on the instruction of Christophe Lutundula, who will be responsible for preparing the roadmap for the said reform.
Immediately, the Deputy Prime Minister announced the structuring, as of next week, of the African Union taskforce to make it more operational.
He also expressed the wish to see the direction of La Francophonie confirm itself to current requirements so that it is more efficient.
With regard to the financial disputes of diplomatic missions, the Deputy Prime Minister informed the participants of this meeting that the conclusions of the recent interministerial committee for Foreign Affairs-Budget-Finance were assessed by the President of the Republic, and that with his support, the head of the Congolese diplomacy believes he will be able by 2023, to regulate to 80 percent (80%) the support of the Congolese diplomats.
This monthly working meeting with the secretaries general and the heads of services is the third that the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs has organized since taking power at the head of this ministry, it is recalled.
