Kinshasa, May 12th 2021 (CPA).– The First Lady of DRC, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, paid a visit on Tuesday to two schools in Kinshasa city, namely Lycée Kabambare and Lycée Motema Mpiko, as part of its program « Congo for women », said the joint office of the Head of State in a statement received on Wednesday at CPA.
The First Lady visited Kabambare high school, to posthumously honor Betsy Brocke, a nun of the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart and founder of the « Education for Life » school program.
According to the press release, the First Lady also visited Motema Mpiko high school to honor the pioneer of this school, Françoise de Meyer. An auxiliary of the apostolate of the Archdiocese of Kinshasa, of Belgian origin who first worked as a social worker from 1954 to 1960 at Kintambo social home where she trained women, mothers,nfuture elite of Congo.
The sister was a religion teacher at the Athenaeum of Kalina from 1960–1967, and a round of wagtails in Guiding.
In 1967, she opened Marie-Therese diocesan high school, which in 1973 became “Motema Mpiko heart valiant”, then until 2011 she taught more than 10,000 young Congolese girls, notes the source. She died on September 30th, 2012.
In these two schools, the First Lady took the opportunity to educate high school girls about her Excellentia program.
In addition, the source also indicates that the First Lady, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi has completed her round at Jackie Betoko Ngeli, TV presenter on the program « bonoir les petits » on RTNC.
