Kinshasa, August 25th, 2021 (CPA) – The Minister Delegate in charge of People Living with Disabilities (PVH) and Other Vulnerable People (APV), Irene Esambo Diata, has just deployed, in the provinces of DRC, to carry out the installation of the nuclei and/or focal points of these social categories under the aforementioned ministry.
According to the Minister’s Communication Unit, which delivered this news to CPA on Wednesday, these nuclei of PVH and VPA will act as a relay between the national ministry and the provinces.
These structures, newly created by President Felix Tshisekedi, aim to establish good coordination of actions and strengthen the link of collaboration and support for this layer of the Congolese population.
Each nucleus is made up of 18 members, with three people in each category of people living with disabilities, while the presidency will be rotated by these people living with disabilities.
These experts will also make the restitution of the organic law relating to the Promotion and Protection of people living with disabilities, currently being proofread in the Senate, with a view to its appropriation by those concerned.
Distribution of white canes
These experts from the Ministry in charge of PVH and VPA, also distribute white canes, donated by the Head of State, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, to facilitate the mobility of the blind and visually impaired, in addition to various donations, in particular loincloths and hydroalcoholic gels, as part of the fight against COVID-19.
The provinces of Bas-Uele, Tshuapa, Mongala, Equateur, Nord and Sud Ubangi, Tanganyika, Kasai-Central, Sankuru, Mai-Ndombe and Kinshasa, are targeted in this wave of installation of provincial nuclei.
