FDNT files a complaint against LUCHA for defamation

Kinshasa, June 09th, 2021 (CPA).- Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation (FDNT) confirms having lodged a complaint on Monday June 7th, 2021, against the authors of Lucha allegations, claiming that part of the food intended for the victims of the eruption of Nyiragongo volcano, had been hijacked by officials of the First Lady’s Foundation in Goma.

FDNT, which reserved the right to bring these defamatory accusations before the courts a few days ago, indicated that several people, not part of the Foundation, have already been arrested for their crimes and that the administrator of Rutshuru territory was also heard on Tuesday at the military prosecutor’s office.

On June 4th, 2021, it is recalled, Lucha organization said in a tweet that it had evidence that part of the food intended for the victims of Goma had been diverted by the officials of the Foundation of the First Lady.

A few minutes after this publication, FDNT denied these allegations which only aimed to tarnish the image of the Foundation and its president committed to making their contribution to the development of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation also reassures, of its firm desire to unconditionally support the authorities’ efforts to come to the aid of compatriots in difficult circumstances after the eruption of Nyiragongo volcano.

To this end, it calls on the inhabitants of Goma and the surrounding area not to give in to manipulation and to trust its rigor in the management of its work and its activities, which are carried out in full transparency.

The First Lady of the Republic, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, affected by the disaster caused by the eruption of Nyiragongo volcano, had initiated, through her foundation, actions to come to the aid of the displaced.

To date, several refugee sites in Nord Kivu have already been served and the operation is continuing normally, it is reported. ACP/Fng/ODM/KJI
