Kinshasa, August 25th, 2021 (CPA) – 11 road traffic police (PCR) were caught holding motorists to ransom on Wednesday during an inspection raid by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister in charge of Interior, Security, Decentralization and Customary Affairs, Me Daniel Aselo, on certain arteries of Kinshasa city.
The Deputy Prime Minister surprised these uncivil elements respectively at Vodacom stop, towards Socimat, in Gombe municipality, in De Bonhomme district, in Matete, in Quartier 1 in Ndjili and, finally, between Place Pascal and Kingasani roundabout, at the limit of the municipalities of Masina and Kimbanseke.
Me Daniel Aselo also took this opportunity to discuss with traffic police and educate them on their way of working, especially on Boulevard Lumumba, via the heavy duty road, at Baramoto stop.
The population, surprised by this descent of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister in charge of Interior, spontaneously formed a procession to accompany him and expressed the wish to no longer see these police officers arrested on the streets of the capital.
The ransom police arrested were placed in pre-trial detention, pend their presentation before their natural judge, it is said. ACP /
