Minister Muyaya and US Senators discuss the change of narrative for good cooperation

Kinshasa, August 31st, 2021 (CPA).- The Minister in charge of Communication and Media, Patrick Muyaya Katembwe, discussed on Monday at the residence of the United States Ambassador in Kinshasa with a delegation of the American Senate made up of senators John G Tomaszewski and Andy Olson in the presence of the American Ambassador to DRC, Mike Hammer, on the narrative change for a good cooperation between his country and DRC.

« Our goal here is to ensure that the real stories of the United States in Congo are communicated and that the history of the development of DRC is also communicated to the United States Senate », said John G. Tomaszewski.

For his part, Minister Muyaya welcomed this fruitful meeting with the American delegation which has been staying in Kinshasa since last weekend.

“It is a joy for us to receive our friends who come on behalf of the American Congress. You know that in the American system, it is the Congress which decides for the most part of things, especially for the cooperation which binds our two States”, he indicated.

“It’s a great pleasure for us to meet him alongside Ambassador Hammer to talk about the change in narrative of all the work we do internally. Most often DRC is known as a land of tragedies. But we presented DRC to them as a solution country”, added Minister Muyaya.

This friendly meeting between the spokesperson for the Congolese government augurs well for future meetings which will strengthen the partnership between the two countries. This visit is therefore part of the straight line of the privileged partnership for peace and prosperity as well as the preservation of nature which binds the two States.

« There is a great communication work to do and we will continue it », concluded the spokesperson of the government. ACP/
