Parliament: maintenance of permanent consultations between the offices of the two Chambers

Kinshasa, September 1st, 2021 (CPA).- The President of the National Assembly, Christophe Mboso and that of the Senate, Modeste Bahati, noted on Tuesday the need to maintain permanent consultations between the offices of the two Chambers of Parliament, on problems affecting the smooth running of parliamentary activities, learned the CPA after a tête-à-tête between the two personalities, at the office of Prof. Modeste Bahati Lukwebo, at the People’s Palace.

Christophe Mboso, who was accompanied by Jean Marc Kabund a Kabund and Vital Banywesize, respectively First and Second Vice-President of the National Assembly, said at the end of this working session that their discussions revolved around the preparation of the parliamentary re-entry in September 2021, the designation of the delegates of the components to the INEC as well as the preparation of the parliamentary meetings at the international level to which the delegates of the DRC are invited.

The president of the lower house said, with regard to the guidelines on the appointment of the leaders of the Electoral Center, that the stakeholders should consult each other before the plenary on the issue.

We must move quickly, in order to make up for the backlog in the nomination file for delegates to the INEC. The INEC team that will be set up will have to work hard so that the elections take place in 2023, as we wish, ”said Christophe Mboso, reassuring that on the side of the Sacred Union of the Nation , small problems have already been fixed. « The Sacred Union of the Nation has resumed its meetings and contacts, » he stressed.

The president of the National Assembly has also announced the holding of a plenary session of his institution soon, while all the files relating to the question of the CENI are ready. ACP/
