Pius Muabilu calls on his employees to improve urban governance

Kinshasa, September 1st, 2021 (CPA).- The Minister of State in charge of Urban Planning and Housing, Pius Muabilu Mbayu Mukala, on Monday called in his office, his employees to improve their performance in technical urban governance, in order to increase revenue mobilization, the CPA learned on Tuesday from the Ministry of Town Planning and Housing.

The source indicates that Minister of State Muabilu is counting on the collaboration of his administration, as well as that of other sectoral ministries, for better regulation of technical interventions in the area, given that Urban Planning is a plural art.

During this working session, the participants successively addressed issues related respectively to the urban development and real estate sector, to sectoral administration and to the internal functioning of the firm. Other topics such as the conceptualization on the regularization of the real estate sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC); the study on access to decent and sustainable housing by the civil servant; the need for a one-stop shop to support revenue maximization as well as the restructuring of the Town Planning and Housing administration were also discussed.

In order to put an end to the bad practices of inapplicability of the texts governing this sector, the Minister proposes to activate various focal points. During this meeting, Minister of State Muabilu also placed particular emphasis on the urgent establishment of an ad hoc committee to launch the campaign to popularize the law on rental leases, an action that, he recalled, will be launched in Kinshasa and other major cities in the country.
