President Felix Tshisekedi appoints mayors and deputies mayors of the cities of Ituri and Goma

Kinshasa, May 27th, 2021 (CPA).– The President of the Republic, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, after an ordinance read on Tuesday evening on the Congolese National Radio Television (RTNC), appointed the mayors and deputies mayors of the cities of Bunia and Goma, in the provinces of Ituri and Nord Kivu.

According to this ordinance, the President of the Republic appointed the Senior Commissioner François Kabeya Makosa, as Mayor of Goma, to replace Mr. Timothee Mwisa Nkese. He will be assisted in this post by Senior Commissioner Kapend Kamande, as Deputy Mayor.

The Head of State also appointed, for Beni city, the Senior Commissioner Narcisse Muteba Kashale, as Mayor with, as deputy, Commissioner Dieudonne Kyalanza. Regarding Butembo city, the Senior Commissioner Katunda Lonyenye and Roger Mowa were respectively appointed Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

As for Ituri province, Commissioners John Tshabwine Wa Mihing and Bosco Mbuyi have been appointed as Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bunia city.

This appointment comes after that of the military governors in these two provinces affected by the state of siege, replacing the civil authorities, it is recalled. ACP / Kwilu
