South African investors reassured by the support of the Sama Lukonde government

Kinshasa, July 17th, 2021 (CPA).- Prime Minister Jean Michel Sama Lukonde reassured, on Friday, after a working session at the Prime Minister’s office, the investors of the South African company Delta Naturel Gaz ( DNG Energy LTD) led by their Managing Director, Aldworth Mbalati, to support his government in carrying out various investment projects in the DRC.

The Country Representative of DNG, Bishop Abdel Diur, at the end of the exchanges with the Prime Minister, indicated that they came within the framework of the investments, because currently the DRC is a great opportunity for the world, stressing that this is how there are many investors who are heading towards the DRC because of the favorable business climate.

« We have brought in a potential partner in order to be able to support the DRC government in the field of mining as well as that of energy, » he continued.

Mr. Abdel Diur said that they also want to get involved in the capacity building of the «  Inga  » projects as well as the Banana deep water port as well as to work for the increase of energy capacities. in the mining area in Katanga.

“Another thing that interests us is the transformation of gas from Lake Kivu and operating in infrastructure. This is how we brought in the chairman of DNG which is one of the big companies in Africa. It is already pointed out in large projects in Ghana, Nigeria, and Mozambique and is based in South Africa”, added the Country Representative of DNG, stressing that the biggest problem is that they are waiting for a good facilitation and there it is, the assurances received from the Prime Minister in relation to their agenda.

After Kinshasa, this DNG delegation will go to the Katanga area to explore investment opportunities in mines, he said.

« We are very impressed by the hospitality and diligence with which the head of government conducted this working session and we expect favorable results while hoping to return in the coming days to present the work done in the Democratic Republic of the Congo », he concluded. ACP/
