The bill amending the nationality law submitted to the National Assembly

Kinshasa, July 8th, 2021 (ACP).- National elected Pitshou Nsingi Pululu, elected from Funa in Kinshasa, tabled on Thursday, at the office of the National Assembly, the bill amending and supplementing law number 04/24 of November 12th, 2004 relating to Congolese nationality.

Pitshou Nsingi who endorsed the bill said he wanted to give all Congolese the opportunity to enjoy their rights.

This bill, initiated by Noel Tshiani Mwadiamvita, unsuccessful presidential candidate of December 30th, 2018, locks access to the functions of sovereignty, namely the Presidency of the Republic, the presidency of the Senate, the presidency of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister, the General Staff of the Army, the General Police Station and the sovereign ministries (Defense, Foreign Affairs, Interior, Finance, DGM, the National Intelligence Agency).

« All these functions must be reserved exclusively for Congolese, born of father and mother, to avoid any infiltration at the top of the state. We want to avoid conflicts of interest at the top of the state for those who may be torn between the interests of DRC and those of a foreign country once they occupy these positions of sovereignty« , argues Noel Tshiani Mwandiamvita.

The other innovation of this bill, according to its initiator, consists in banning the uniqueness and exclusivity of Congolese nationality. ACP/
