Kinshasa, May 29th, 2021 (CPA).- The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the Interior, Security, Decentralization and Customary Affairs, Me Daniel Aselo Okito wa Koy has decided to reactivate “The Operations Coordination Center”, at during a security crisis meeting that he chaired on Friday in his office in Kinshasa and in which senior officials of all internal security services took part. This structure will have among other tasks the daily monitoring, hour by hour, of the consequences that will result from this disaster caused by the volcanic eruption of Nyiragongo as well as informing the authorities in real time of the evolution of what is happening in the field. « After all the officials of the security services and those of the police had reported on the evolution of the situation on the ground, the participants were led to agree that it was imperative to centralize the information relating to this humanitarian crisis which is unfolding in Goma”, indicated Colonel Pierrot Mwanamputu, spokesperson for the PNC in his report of the meeting. The recent massive displacement of populations from 10 regions around the Nyiragongo volcano towards Sake and South Kivu is of great concern to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Interior.
