The FARDC frees eight hostages in Ituri, including a foreigner in the hands of the ADF

Bunia, September 14th, 2021 (CPA).- The spokesperson for the FARDC operational sector in Ituri, Lt Jules Ngongo, announced to the press on Monday the release, in the hands of ADF terrorists, of eight (8) hostages, including one (1) foreigner. « The armed forces saved the lives of our compatriots who were in the shadow of the death of the ADF. During our combat patrols and attacks against these thugs in depth, precisely in the locality of Ottomaber, where these ex-hostages have been released,” he explained.

Lieutenant Jules Ngongo indicated that these ex-hostages will first of all be questioned by the specialized services of the army, before they are returned to their respective families, like the 67 others released and taken. in charge by the army.

He specified that these ex-hostages are part of the group of eighty (80) people victims of a kidnapping orchestrated by ADF terrorists, during an ambush set out by « these same thugs » on a convoy dated of 01 September running on the Komanda-Luna-Komanda axis, at the level of the RN4. ACP/
