Bunia, June 19th, 2021 (CPA).– President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) and of the Congolese National Police (PNC), presided over on Friday in Bunia, the capital of the province of Ituri, a provincial security council with all the heads of the defense and security services of this entity.
This exchange with the Supreme Commander revolved around the security situation in Ituri. These include, it is said, the mid-term evaluation of the hunt for enemies of the Republic, the morale of the troops at the front and strategies for the continuation of the fighting, the Head of the State having reassured the population of its « determination to put an end to the negative forces in this part of the country ».
The opportunity was therefore indicated for President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi to communicate the measures taken to accompany the rise of the valiant elements of the FARDC that he encouraged and who are already routing these foreign and local militiamen.
The Military Governor of Ituri, the Minister of National Defense, the GA of the ANR and that of the DGM, the special adviser on security as well as general and senior officers took part in this council.
Moreover, the visit of the Head of State not being easy, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi held the Council of Ministers on the same day, followed by a meeting with the forces of Ituri. Successful dialogue between the Father of the Nation and the notables, women’s and youth associations, business circles … of this province under a state of siege since May 2021, it is reported. ACP/
