The state of play of the decent work agenda in DRC examined at the line ministry

Kinshasa, August 17th, 2021 (CPA).- The Minister in charge of Employment, Labor and Social Welfare, Claudine Ndusi M’Kembe, exchanged on Monday on the state of progress of the labor agenda with the acting representative of the country of International Labor Office (ILO), Nteba Soumand, in his labor office in Gombe municipality. Interim representative Nteba Soumad indicated that the decent work agenda in DRC is based on four pillars: employment, social dialogue, standards and social protection. She underlined that the results already obtained with each pillar are encouraging and reassuring to achieve the assigned objectives. “Relations between ILO and the Congolese Ministry in charge of Employment are excellent. The files under discussion are well under way. And we assured the Minister of our support in the accompaniment to have full employment in DRC”, declared Nteba Soumad.

Nteba Soumad assumes the interim of Kinshasa office which covers 6 countries of the sub-region, namely, the two Congos, Chad, Angola, Gabon and the Central African Republic. ACP /
