Kisangani, May 29th, 2021 (CPA).- The head of the Islamic entity of Tshopo, Cheikh Hamza Oyoko, last Friday asked the Congolese state to protect the Muslim elite in the province. The head of the Islamic entity of Tshopo who referred to the unfortunate cases that occurred in the province of North Kivu, also stressing the lack of consideration of the members of this community who are caught in the grip of certain state services to which they do not enjoy any privilege or preferential treatment.
While denouncing the cases of the murders of Muslims in this part of the country, he called on the Congolese State to be responsible, specifying that the Muslim leaders of North Kivu have never had secessionist or terrorist inclinations and must be protected from ‘especially as their physical integrity is in danger.
