Butembo, April 3rd, 2021 (CPA) .- The non-governmental organization, Humanitarian Actions for Integral Development (AHDI) last Wednesday assisted displaced families fleeing the massacres of civilian populations in the territories of Beni and Irumu, with food and non-food as part of the mission of supervision, support and socio-economic integration of vulnerable people.
The activity took place at the coordination office of AHDI, under the supervision of the mayor of the commune of Kimemi, Gilbert Bwambale who praised the act of charity posed by this NGO, in partnership with the evangelical center Arche de l Butembo alliance.
For the head of the Butembo Alliance Arch, Reverend Pastor Jules Romain Ngawani, this church, in its mission to train everyone and everyone, is called to support multidimensional assistance actions for the vulnerable.; according to what the bible declares in Proverbs 19:17 that « he who has mercy on the poor lends to the Lord ».
He thus took the opportunity to thank all the donors who provided assistance for the success of this first stage of the project and called on all people of goodwill to come to the aid of these needy people who live in the conditions obviously and extremely deplorable. The man of God particularly thanked Burgomaster Bwambale for making 10 plots available for exploitation by the beneficiaries for agricultural activities during their stay in Butembo while awaiting the restoration of peace in their places of origin.
This gratitude was addressed to the Nesmara company for its availability to provide training to beneficiaries in art and craft, to the Michaëla Company as well as to the microfinance company TID which will provide support in the training in the rational management of micro- credits. Taking the floor, AHDI’s project manager, Philémon Kalondero, thanked the assistance, indicating that this ceremony is part of the implementation of his medical and psychosocial assistance project in favor of vulnerable families displaced people. In addition to food assistance, this project aims to improve the socioeconomic conditions of 78 households of the targeted beneficiaries, for a period of 3 months; it starts from the series of free psycho-medical consultations coupled with treatments followed by training in trades, agriculture, micro-credit management which will be granted to them, once their mental and somatic health has been restored or better stabilized. For this first day, 22 people were consulted including 12 pregnant women unable to start ANC for lack of financial means and others with serious problems of depression.
