Bukavu, April 12th, 2021 (CPA).- The elected provincial deputy of Kabare, Jérémie Basimane, suggested to the final office of the Provincial Assembly of South Kivu to act as a matter of urgency to put in place internal regulations in accordance with the laws of the Republic. He thus requested the collaboration of his colleagues in the Provincial Assembly with a view to cleaning up the internal regulations governing this institution in order to put an end to the internal dissensions currently observed in this body. Jérémie Basimane pointed out that the current regulatory text presents irregularities to the point that in 2019, the constitutional court deplored its content not respecting the context of the Constitution of the DRC. He cited in this case the current standoff observed at the top of the two political institutions of the province, but also between certain elected officials and the office of the deliberative organ of South Kivu. The political actors of this province are called to stop with internal quarrels and to devote themselves for the population, he said. The political class of South Kivu is currently experiencing turbulence, notably a petition for the deposition of certain members of the permanent office of the Provincial Assembly and a motion of no confidence addressed to the provincial governor, it is recalled.
