Three vehicles consumed by fire at the PETROMBU gas station in Mbuji-Mayi

Mbuji-Mayi, July 3rd, 2021 (CPA) .- A van and two tankers were consumed by the fire that broke out at the Mbuji-Mayi petrol station (PETROMBU) on Thursday, the CPA noted on place in the municipality of Dibindi.

Company officials and witnesses contacted on the spot say that the fire in these rolling machines was caused by a phone call during an operation to transfer gasoline from a tank truck to a small plastic tank placed behind the van which ensures the distribution of certain points of the city.

The burning of the entire station was narrowly avoided thanks to the energetic intervention of the population with the sandblasting and the help of the fire-fighting vehicle which completely contained the fire. During this time, other parked vehicles were evacuated by the population outside the concession.

The agents of the provincial division of Energy and elements of the Congolese national police arrived on the spot for an investigation, welcomed the extinction of this fire which did not reach the underground fuel tanks, thus avoiding a tragedy to the riparian neighborhoods. No loss of human life was recorded, noted the CPA reporter dispatched to the scene. ACP/NIG
