Kinshasa, May 22nd, 2021 (CPA).- The national president of the National Council of Independent Churches United for Peace (CNEIUP), Bishop Samuel Augustin Faluto Kashala, affirmed, during an interview, Thursday, with the ACP, the commitment of his organization to support the actions of the Head of State, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo and the government led by the Prime Minister, Sama Lukonde, for the fight against corruption, fraud, embezzlement of public funds and other anti-values.
He indicated that the CNEIUP has just introduced, at the level of all the institutions of the country, a memorandum containing the points of view and the suggestions formulated by the representatives of 170 Churches to support this vision of the President of the Republic, during a recently met in Kinshasa. This memorandum, he said, presents concrete proposals in terms of the fight against the misappropriation of public funds, respect for human rights, adding that his organization is currently carrying out an awareness campaign to change mentalities in churches, to support said vision.
The CNEIUP also pleads in this memorandum, in favor of the identification and the census of the population in order to have an exact number of the Congolese population, during the next elections. The same is true of the recommendation to the government to entrust the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) to the Ministry of the Interior as well as the reform of the electoral law. Created in 2021, the CNEIUP aims to support the President of the Republic and all institutions for the integral development of the DRC, fight impunity, as well as anti-values. ACP/
