The DRC notified 100 new cases of Covid-19 on Thursday

Kinshasa, August 7th, 2021 (CPA).- One hundred (100) new confirmed cases of Covid-19 were recorded Thursday in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), out of 2,006 samples tested, including 36 cases in Kinshasa, 28 in Haut- Katanga, 17 in North Kivu, 8 in Tshopo, 7 in Haut-Uélé and 4 in Kongo Central, reports the daily bulletin of the Technical Secretariat of the Multisectoral Covid-19 Response Committee which reached the CPA on Friday. Data on new deaths of confirmed cases and new recoveries in Covid treatment centers (CTCo) and among patients followed at home are not available. The national level of the response is awaiting the update of data from several Provincial Health Divisions for harmonization. Since the declaration of the epidemic on March 10th, 2020, the cumulative number of cases is 51,254, including 51,253 laboratory-confirmed cases and 1 probable case. In total, there were 1,045 deaths and 30,043 people cured. The Covid-19 test is free in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, except for travelers who will have to pay 30 US dollars, it is recalled. All twenty-six (26) provinces of the DRC are now affected by this pandemic. These are the provinces of Kinshasa (33,291 cases), North Kivu (4,977 cases), Haut-Katanga (3,441 cases), Kongo Central (2,852 cases), South Kivu (1,788 cases), Lualaba (1,637 cases), Ituri (1,017 cases), Tshopo (808 cases), Haut-Uélé (517 cases), Equator (352 cases), Kasaï Central (114 cases), North -Ubangi (103 cases), Kasaï (82 cases), Sud-Ubangi (64 cases), Kasaï Oriental (51 cases), Haut-Lomami (49 cases), Maniema (42 cases), Kwilu ( 23 cases), Tanganyika (19 cases), Bas-Uélé (7 cases), Kwango (7 cases), Mongala (5 cases), Sankuru (4 cases), Tshuapa (3 cases), Maï-Ndombe (2 cases) and Lomami (2 cases).
