Demolition of anarchic construction in the Salongo district in the municipality of Lemba

Kinshasa, August 7^th, 2021 (CPA).- The burgomaster of the municipality of Lemba, Jean Nsaka, accompanied by the communal brigade and some elements of the police of his municipality, supervised, on Friday, the demolition of some anarchic constructions in the Salongo district , in said municipality. For the municipal authority, this operation was carried out on the “Wenze ya Mabaya” axis, at the Salongo and Abeti stops via REGISEDO to Boulevard Salongo, on the one hand, within the framework of the implementation of the “Kinshasa-Bopeto” operation at the level of the municipality of Lemba and, on the other hand, to avoid damage during the next rainy season. The mayor of the municipality of Lemba, explained that the implementation of this measure aims to make the channeling of rainwater from different corners fluid and to protect several families from possible damage during the said season. He added that the anarchic constructions are at the base of the several deaths, which is why we have anticipated together with my administration to destroy certain anarchic constructions to spare the population from this damage. He pledged to get involved in improving the conditions of vendors who display products on the ground in front of the “Wenze ya Mabaya” Square already under construction, underlining his determination to fight all those who sabotage the program. urban authority. « From now on, each non-sanitized establishment will be sealed, » he said, before raising awareness among the population to respect the barrier gestures and other measures taken by the authorities in the context of the fight against the 3rd wave of COVID-19.
