Kinshasa, July 24th, 2021 (CPA) .- The Faculty of Social Communications of the Catholic University of Congo (UCC), organized Thursday, a workshop on communication professions focused on the general theme « Reflection on the socio-professional issues of the DRC ”, during a day devoted to this purpose within the facilities of this university located in the town of Mont-Ngafula.
Several speakers intervened on this occasion, in particular, the chief of staff of the Minister of Communication and the Media, Nicolas Lianza, who looked at the contribution of the State to the development of communication professions.
He said in his speech that at the level of the ministry, the general states of communication and the media are preparing to bring together all the players in the communication sector for its development.
In addition, he noted three essential factors that media professionals must respect in press houses to advance their profession, namely; legal, financial and material frameworks.
For his part, Al Kitenge, expert in strategic communication, developed the concept of “Communication in times of crisis”, based on the problem of the coronavirus pandemic which is ravaging the world.
To this end, he invited the participants to internalize the paradigm of “crisis communication which involves the economy of the verb”.
For his part, the journalist Thierry Kambundi worked on « How to put an end to the cutting phenomenon in the Congolese media sphere », starting from the meaning of the concept. He proposed some possible solutions to overcome this phenomenon, in particular changing the economic model of the media and making them reliable so that they enjoy management autonomy.
The purpose of this day of reflection was to share professional experiences in the field with communication students in order to develop proven skills from theory to practice.
This scientific meeting ended with the opening of the first university magazine of the faculty of social communications of this university called « Alma mater ». ACP/Fng/nig
