African judo champion Marie Branser expected in Kinshasa soon

Kinshasa, May 29th, 2021 (CPA).- The African judo champion, Marie Branser, is expected soon in Kinshasa to present her two gold medals that she offered to the Democratic Republic of Congo recently at the championships Africa of nations that the city of Dakar, Senegal, sheltered. Lawyer Freddy Elonga, member of the Congolese National Judo Federation (FENACOJU) told the CPA on Friday after having spoken to the Minister of Sports and Leisure, Serge Nkonde Chembo.

According to Master Freddy Elonga, Me Marie Branser, who won two gold medals at the African Nations Judo Championships, which took place in Dakar, Senegal, is eligible for the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games. Africa will be accompanied by her trainer Petru Gherhes and will take the opportunity to present her two medals to the country’s authorities. Lawyer Freddy Elonga did not welcome the involvement of the Minister of Sports and Recreation through his financial support, without which the athlete of Congolese sports nationality would not have participated in the African Championships in Dakar. On the occasion of her visit to Kinshasa, Me Marie Branser will present her preparation program for the Olympic Games, scheduled for next July-August. ACP/Fng/nig
