Kinshasa, March 26th, 2021 (CPA)-DR Congo sealed its absence in the final phase of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) football, Cameroon 2021, after having sunk body and property in front of Gabon on the score without appeal from 0-3, on Thursday in Franceville, on the occasion of the 5thday, group D, of the playoffs.
After holding on for most of the first period, the Congolese beasts let go late in the half when Boumendza (44th) opened the scoring with an assist from Kanga G. On resumption, Bouanga D. (72nd) will again find the fault with a raise from Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang for 2-0. The latter (76th) will return to the charge to salt the bill and knock out the Leopards, who are thus eliminated from the biggest meeting of African youth in January-February next year. An absence that comes after continued participation in this competition reserved for senior African players.
Gambia, who received Angola in Banjul in the same context, also validated their ticket for the Cameroonian CAN by winning by 1-0, on a realization of Ceesay (62nd).
