DRC: Launching in June of a football tournament  »Chapo Fatshi Cup

Kinshasa, April 18th, 2023 (CPA).- DRC will launch in June a tournament called  »Chapo Fatshi Cup » under the supervision of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and the African Confederation of Football (CAF), announced on Monday, the secretary general of FECOFA, Belgian Situatala Matuluakila.

In his report at the end of the audience that the Minister in charge of Sports and Leisure granted to a delegation of members of the Executive Committee of FECOFA led by its president Donatien Tshimanga Mwamba, in his office, Belge Situatala informed that this football tournament will bring together 8 national teams of under 20 years of the African zone. It will be fully supported by FIFA and CAF.

« A delegation of FECOFA will cross on Friday in Brazzaville to meet the president of the Union of Central African Football Federations (UNIFFAC) in order to pool efforts for the feasibility of this tournament which will take place at the Martyrs of Pentecost stadium currently undergoing repairs, » said the secretary general of FECOFA.

He added: « For the good organization of this tournament, Minister Kabulo has instructed the technical body, FECOFA to take all measures to ensure that everything goes normally, because this competition will undoubtedly be the best preparation of the Leopards U-20 for the 9th Games of the Franco phony which will take place in our country soon”.   CPA/
