Towards the indefinite postponement of the EUBAKIS championship

Kisangani, August 7th, 2021 (CPA)..- The executive secretary of the Kisangani Urban Basketball Agreement (EUBAKIS), Cama Babakalala, announced to the CPA on Friday the possibility of postponing the 2021-2022 championship indefinitely due to non-payment of participation fees by the teams.

He indicated that on that date, only the Boa and Gold Star clubs of Kisangani have made a sign of life by paying certain required fees. Four clubs are treading water despite appeals to raise awareness of the cartel. The moratorium has come to an end, which implies the possibility of definitively dismissing the championship.

The executive secretary of EUBAKIS also expressed his indignation at the silence of the Congo Basketball Federation (FEBACO), which has still not responded to the multiple requests addressed to him, one of which relates to assistance following the disappearance of Entente president Lufika Shambuyi last May in Kisangani.
