V.Club: 31 players under the supervision of coach Raoul Shungu on Thursday at the 1st training session

Kinshasa, August 7th, 2021 (CPA).- The assistant coach of AS V. Club Raoul Shungu brought together 31 players who were present at the 1st training session of AS V. Club in Kinshasa, Thursday at the field from the Ujana training center to the Père Raphaël de la Kethulle stadium, in the town of Kalamu, Kinshasa.

Five former players, namely Cameroonian goalkeeper Simon Omossola, the only expatriate player of last season, Ruddy Makwekwe Kupa, Guy Mfingi Magema, Rolly Balumbi and Béni Wahola, took part in the said training session.

The other players were an assemblage of new recruits including Gloire Nzungu Mafwana of FC Renaissance du Congo de Kinshasa, Mido Kingu Kiakhono of Blessing FC de Kolwezi (former of Real de Kinshasa) and others like his teammate Ingoli Iyosso (former of AC Rangers of Kinshasa).

According to coach Raoul Shungu, preparation has two phases: “We have just started the first phase of our preparation. It consisted of the identification and control of recruited players. In the second phase, it will be a question of internment in a place still kept secret and which will be revealed by next week. Recruitment is not completely closed because we are expecting 6 more arrivals of Congolese and foreigners, which will allow us to make a good mix. As we know, we are preparing for a very difficult stage, so much so that we have to have seasoned players for the competitions in which we will take part.

From the last season’s squad, there are 15 survivors, some of whom were absent from the Ujana Center on Thursday for lack of information. But, all will be there on Friday.

“At this time, we are forbidden to disclose the entire preparation program. What is certain is that upon the arrival of 6 new expected players, the group will be interned, knowing that we will be fully committed to the next Confederation Cup where there will be no question of making the configuration. « , Underlined the former assistant of Jean Florent Ibenge Ikwange, who does not see much chance so that his club can answer the invitation to two tournaments.

“Regarding the two tournaments in Benin and Cameroon to which V.Club is invited, we cannot go and participate without having prepared ourselves well so as not to live an adventure in bad taste, especially since good preparation requires close 4 to 6 weeks of greening. So said, we will not go there to sharpen our weapons. If there is time, we’ll see to what extent we can announce our participation in one or the other tournament, « said coach Shungu.

The following players marked the first training session with their presence, in particular: Pascal Kalambay, Mira Kalonji, Guy Mfingi, Gede Oningoli, Gloire Nzungu, Héritier nkoko, Mydoyallet, Josue Mungwengi, Seydou Mpoy, Thángkidinga, Jean Denis, Benjamin Kabwe , Rollybalumbi, Simon omossola, Varelrozan, Nathan Kabasele, Jonathan Mambabwa, Mfingi Nzungumafuana.
