2026 World Cup – African play-offs: designation of stadiums for the semi-finals after draw

Kinshasa, October 29th, 2025 (CPA).- The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the host country, Morocco, have confirmed the stadiums that will host the intercontinental tournament for the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, according to information obtained by CPA from the African football body’s website on Wednesday.

‘The semi-finals will take place on Thursday November 13th at the El Barid Stadium and the Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex. A draw will determine the stadium for each match,’ it is read. According to the source, the mini-tournament will take place from November 13th to 16th, 2025, in Rabat and will bring together the following teams: the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, the Leopards of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Panthers of Gabon and the Super Eagles of Nigeria, the four best runners-up from all the groups in the African qualifying rounds for the 2026 World Cup.

The opening match of these play-offs will pit Nigeria against Gabon at 5 p.m. local time, 4 p.m. GMT. The second semi-final will see Cameroon take on DRC at 8 p.m. local time, 7 p.m. GMT. The final will be played on Sunday November 16th at the Prince Heritier Moulay El Hassan Complex at 8 p.m. local time, 7 p.m. GMT. The winner of this tournament will qualify for the FIFA intercontinental play-offs in March 2026, with a chance to win the 10th and final ticket allocated to Africa for the FIFA World Cup.
