‘Black Thursday’ campaign: Resilience celebrated by an organisation in Kinshasa

Kinshasa, October 8th, 2026 (CPA): – Resilience, institutional renewal and personal commitment have been the focus of a workshop organised on Thursday in Kinshasa, in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), by the Association for Family Well-being – Desirable Births (ABEF-ND), as part of the ‘Black Thursday’ campaign. “On this particular ‘Black Thursday’, ABEF-ND proudly celebrates its resilience, commitment and institutional renewal. This moment is an invitation to all its volunteers and staff, across different provinces of DRC, to look to the future with confidence and responsibility,” Carlin Vese, the ambassador for positive masculinity, has declared. According to him, for this renewal to be a light that never wavers, we must remember the seven values that guide ABEF-ND: passion, respect, social inclusion, accountability, innovation, volunteering and transparency. “These values must not remain mere words: they must be reflected every day in our attitudes, our decisions, our professional relationships and our commitment to our communities,” he has emphasised. “For our voices to be heard, let us work towards gender equity and gender equality. By promoting positive femininity and masculinity, let us turn our differences into a source of strength,” Mr Vese has concluded.
