Kinshasa, April 21st, 2026 (CPA).- A delegation of the Confederation of African Football arrived on Tuesday in Uganda for a strategic meeting with the three host countries (Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda) of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027, scheduled for April 22nd – 23rd , according to the continental football body’s website. “A CAF delegation has been in Kampala, Uganda, since Tuesday for a strategic meeting scheduled for April 22–23 with the three organizing countries (Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania) of the Africa Cup of Nations 2027, in preparation for the continental competition,” the source reported. According to the same source, the meeting will allow CAF and the three host nations to review implementation priorities for the next phase of preparations for the tournament.
The gathering will bring together representatives of the governments of the three countries, presidents of the three member associations, the acting Secretary General, senior officials of CAF administration, as well as executives including Samson Adamu. The meeting marks an important milestone in the coordinated planning process and will focus on key operational areas essential to the successful organization of AFCON 2027, including security and infrastructure safety, procurement, finance, media, ticketing, and commercial operations. CAF is expected to reaffirm its commitment to supporting host countries in establishing effective coordination mechanisms and strengthening overall operational preparedness across all key organizational areas.
