Chan 2024: Leopards A’ expected to arrive in Kenya on Thursday from Dares Salaam

Kinshasa, July 30th, 2025 (CPA). -The Leopards A’ of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are expected to arrive in Nairobi, Kenya, on Thursday from Dares Salaam, Tanzania, for the final phase of the African Nations Championship (Chan), according to the communications department of the Congolese Football Association (Fecofa). ‘The Congolese Leopards played their first and last test match last Tuesday against Jumas Football Club of South Sudan (3-1) before flying to Kenya early Thursday morning, where the competition will take place from August 2nd to 30th,’ said Belinda Odia, a member of the communications department. The Leopards of DRC will therefore set foot on Kenyan soil two days before the start of the competition and three days before their first match against co-host Kenya, scheduled for Sunday 3 August 2025 in Nairobi. DRC is in Group A, alongside Morocco, Angola, Zambia and Kenya. It is a five-team group, with only two teams advancing to the next round. Coaches Otis Ngoma and his team will need to perform well, i.e., make it through the first round, to help the Congolese forget the fiasco of the last edition in 2022 in Algeria. As a reminder, DRC lost all three of its matches without scoring a single goal.
