Kinshasa, June 28th, 2026 (CPA).- The President of the Constitutional Court of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) on Saturday received the keys to the newly secured gates installed as part of the fencing works around the Court’s premises, constructed by the Military Engineering Corps, according to a judicial source. « It is a source of great pride for us. Turning to the Military Engineering Corps was our first choice because we are Congolese. In line with the Head of State’s policy of enhancing the country’s image, we wanted to demonstrate that our armed forces possess a wide range of expertise, including a military engineering corps of remarkable quality, » said Dieudonné Kamuleta, President of the Constitutional Court. President Kamuleta also welcomed the completion of the works within the agreed timeframe and praised their quality. « The deadline was respected. Sixty days, and the quality is evident. I can only congratulate you on your commitment to excellence, » he said, stressing the need to ensure continuous technical monitoring and maintenance of the infrastructure. He added that this collaboration could be extended to other projects under the High Council of the Judiciary (CSM) as part of efforts to modernize judicial infrastructure. According to him, the new security installations reflect the commitment of the Constitutional Court’s leadership to support the vision of the President of the Republic, the Supreme Magistrate, to restore the image of the Congolese justice system. Beyond enhancing security, the new infrastructure provides a modern, secure working environment befitting the country’s highest judicial institution. For his part, Major General Danga, head of the DRC Military Engineering Corps, welcomed the fulfillment of the commitments made by his unit and expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in its services. « We rehabilitated this highly strategic site in just 60 days by mobilizing all our expertise, resources and determination, » he said. He also paid tribute to the vision of the President of the Constitutional Court and reaffirmed the Military Engineering Corps’ readiness to support the institution in future infrastructure projects. The ceremony began with an inspection tour of the newly completed perimeter fencing and the various secured access points, enabling President Kamuleta to assess the protection measures put in place to strengthen security at this strategic national institution.
