DRC-Linafoot: Don Bosco defeats V.Club (2-1) in the play-offs

Kinshasa, May 4th, 2026 (CPA).- Don Bosco of Lubumbashi, in the south-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has defeated Vita Club of Kinshasa, the country’s capital, 2-1 on Monday at the Kibasa Maliba Stadium in Lubumbashi, on the second day of the National Football League (Linafoot) championship play-offs. Following their 2-0 defeat on the first day against the unionists of Kindu, the Salesians of Don Bosco have begun this duel against the Moscovites of Kinshasa with determination, aiming to secure victory and get back on track for the remainder of this national competition.

Despite this ambition, the Lubumbashi-based club was unable to find the back of the net during the first half of the match, thanks to a solid and well-positioned defence from their opponents on the day (AS V.Club). It was with this score that the two teams went into the half-time break.

After the break, the Salesians of Don Bosco have come back with a different tempo, characterised by pressure, which allowed them to open the scoring through Molindo Mbala (67th minute), before his teammate, Elie Mpoyo, doubled the lead (81st minute). Faced with this challenge, the Muscovites have finally managed to respond, pulling one back through Eliezer Nyembua (84th minute) to make it 2-1.

A victory that has allowed CS Don Bosco to accumulate 4 points from two matches. For their part, following this second consecutive defeat, AS V.Club have 0 points from as many matches played.
