Kinshasa, October 7th, 2026 (CPA).- Tanzania’s commitment to lasting peace in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) was hailed by the Congolese Minister of Regional Integration following a meeting on Tuesday with the Tanzanian President, according to a statement received by CPA on Wednesday.
“Minister Anzuluni hailed Tanzania’s commitment to peace, stability and regional integration, as well as its role in efforts to promote lasting peace in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo and in the Great Lakes region,” the statement from the Ministry’s Communications Unit said.
According to the source, Minister Floribert Anzuluni presented to Tanzanian Head of State Samia Suluhu Hassan, during the meeting, the significant progress made by the DRC since the publication last July of the “Protocol on the Disarmament, Demobilization and Cantonment of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) and so-called affiliated organizations.”
The discussions also focused on the next stages of the process, through the roadmap for implementing the Protocol, as well as the efforts that need to be pursued until the completion of this important process.
“This audience was part of the diplomatic mission led by the Minister of Regional Integration, in his capacity as Special Envoy of the President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, to the DRC’s regional and international partners.
It seeks to keep them informed of the progress made by the Congolese Government and to request their support until the full implementation of the Protocol,” the statement said. The DRC Minister of Regional Integration was accompanied by the Head of State’s High Representative, Sumbu Sita, during the meeting in Dar es Salaam with the President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
