Kinshasa, Oct. 8th, 2026 (CPA).- The Minister of State in charge of Justice of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is attending an international summit, scheduled for October 8th–9th, 2026, in Istanbul, in Turkey, focusing in particular on international humanitarian law, according to a press release received on Thursday by CPA. “The discussions will focus in particular on international humanitarian law, human rights, digital justice, artificial intelligence, cybercrime, international arbitration, developments in the legal professions and migration issues,” it is read in the press release from the ministry’s communications unit. “This conference brings together ministers in charge of justice, senior judicial officials and experts from several countries to discuss issues relating to the future of justice in the face of changes in the contemporary world,” the source has specified. In addition to the Minister in charge of Justice, the Congolese delegation comprises Firmin Mvonde, Attorney General at the Court of Cassation, and King Booto Bo Lolimba, General Secretary in charge of Justice. Through this participation, DRC intends to share its experience and draw inspiration from international best practice as part of the modernisation of its judicial system and the reforms underway in the country, the source has noted. On the side-lines of the summit, Mr Ngefa has scheduled bilateral meetings with several of his counterparts, notably those from Algeria, Botswana, Uganda, Azerbaijan and Turkey, with a view to strengthen partnerships and explore new avenues for judicial cooperation, the same source has reported.ACP/
