Kinshasa, October 5th, 2025 (CPA). – The Democratic Republic of Congo has recorded a total of 53 confirmed cases, including 31 deaths and 11 probable cases, representing a case-fatality rate of 65%, according to the minutes of the 61st Council of Ministers, consulted on Saturday by CPA.
« With regard to the Ebola epidemic, 49 suspected cases have been recorded, including 14 validated cases, but no confirmed cases since the start of the outbreak. A total of 53 cases have been confirmed, including 31 deaths, and 11 probable cases, giving a case-fatality rate of 65% », it is read. The Minister in charge of Health, Hygiene and Prevention has briefed the Council on the epidemiological situation, which is essentially characterised by Ebola, cholera and Buruli ulcer.
‘The Minister has reiterated that his department is pursuing to take appropriate response measures in the face of these three epidemics’, the source has added. With regard to cholera, Dr Roger Kamba has pointed to « a downward trend, particularly in Kinshasa, where only a few cases have been recorded over the past five weeks. As for Buruli ulcer, the downward trend is also consolidating ». CPA/
