Kinshasa, January 22nd, 2026 (CPA). – Egyptian investors have been encouraged on Thursday by an entrepreneur to develop an agricultural partnership with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) during a meeting in Kinshasa, the capital, on his return from an entrepreneurship fair held in Egypt. ‘The conditions are right for a mutually beneficial partnership. What you have, we need it; and what we have can also be useful to you,’ has declared Innocent Kongo, farmer and entrepreneur. Speaking about the importance of arable land in Lumumba’s country, as well as its cultural diversity, Mr Kongo has explained that « our country has vast tracts of land suitable for agriculture and various economic activities. For example, some concessions can be as large as 6,000 hectares and are located about 150 kilometres from the Congolese capital and 50 kilometres from the Atlantic Ocean. » According to him, this vast expanse of arable land covering several hectares as far as the eye can see is waiting for a structuring and ambitious agricultural investment. Let us note that this appeal is in line with the vision expressed by the President of the Republic during his inauguration speech on January 20th, 2024, in Kinshasa, in front of both houses of Parliament and guests from different corners of the country, where he has announced the creation of jobs, with a particular focus on the socio-professional integration of young people and women. Through the promotion of entrepreneurship, the development of professional training and the encouragement of investments in promising sectors, the Head of State had promised to make employment a key driver of social stability and economic development.
