FIFA authorises Motema Pembe to register new players

Kinshasa, August 16th, 2026 (CPA). – The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has authorised Motema Pembe, based in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), to register new players, following the lifting of the sanction imposed on the club after the final of its many related financial cases had been resolved, CPA has learnt on Sunday from an administrative source. “(…). We hereby inform you that the present proceedings against the defendant (Motema Pembe) have been closed and that the ban on registering new players has been definitively lifted,” it is read. According to a letter from world football’s governing body, this decision has been taken following the full settlement of the final outstanding debts owed by Motema Pembe to one of his former coaches.

“We acknowledge that the creditor has received the sums owed by DC Motema Pembe (the defendant), in accordance with the decision handed down by FIFA’s judicial bodies,” the letter states, adding: “We refer to the aforementioned case and acknowledge receipt of the correspondence submitted by Otis Ngoma (the creditor), a copy of which is available on FIFA’s legal portal.” Consequently, it is indicated, FIFA has informed the green-and-white club from Kinshasa that the current proceedings against it have been closed and that the ban on registering new players has been permanently lifted.

In this regard, FIFA, through this letter signed in Miami, USA, by Americo Espallargas, Head of the Disciplinary Department, has instructed FECOFA to immediately lift the ban imposed exclusively on Les Immacules at national level and has asked FECOFA to take note of the above and to thank you for your valuable cooperation in this matter. DCMP mired in internal crises

Some may be rubbing their hands with glee following the lifting of FIFA’s sanctions, but the Immacules are far from seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as they seek to restore calm for their fresh start. And with good reason: instead of all Imanians pulling together to revive their team, they find themselves divided into two factions. One is based at the Cardinal Malula Stadium under the leadership of Sandra Kaposa and Etienne Matoto, aiming to lead the team to the Extraordinary General Meeting to elect new officers, with the blessing of the Foundation and the Board of Directors; the other faction is led by Paul Kasembele. At present, whilst the door to League 2 is wide open for Motema Pembe, the two sides are far from seeing eye to eye, and no one seems to care about the future of the Falcons. CPA/
