Kinshasa, December 10th, 2025 (CPA) – An appeal has been launched by the Prevention and Fight Against Corruption Agency to act together to meet the challenge of integrity in the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to a statement from the agency commemorating International Anti-Corruption Day, consulted on Wednesday.
‘Fighting corruption means building a better, fairer and more transparent world. Fighting corruption means working together to meet the challenges of integrity,’ it is read. ‘This thematic day is an opportunity to salute the leadership and courage of Felix Tshisekedi, President of the Republic, on these issues. At a time when our country has just won the battle for peace under the aegis of the United States, here is a brief overview of my commitment to a more honest society,’ has written Chouma Lomponda, chief communications adviser at that agency.
She has cited actions taken in this area, including the implementation of a doctrine of integrity embodied by the slogan ‘The culture of integrity’, the inclusion of anti-corruption courses in education in collaboration with UNESCO, and the anti-corruption hotline ‘Lobela biso, tolandela bango’. She has also mentioned the 360° awareness campaign ‘Corruption, I say No’ and ‘fighting corruption is an act of patriotism’, as well as the programme ‘Fighting corruption in 3 minutes flat’, a prevention initiative using the media as a lever.
The International Anti-Corruption Day has been observed every year on December 9th since the adoption of the United Nations Convention against Corruption on October 31st, 2003, to draw public attention to the issues surrounding the fight against corruption. CPA/
